Over the past few years the Town of Gibsons worked closely with a group of consultants, key stakeholders and residents on a Harbour Area Plan with the vision of facilitating balanced development that ensures the ongoing attractiveness and the social, cultural, economic and environmental vitality of the Harbour Area, recognizing the unique and crucial role it plays in the life and economy of Gibsons. We are pleased to announce that the recently adopted Harbour Area Plan has been awarded an honourable mention from the Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC) for Excellence in Policy Planning for Small Towns and Rural Areas. The award was presented to the Town’s Planner, Michael Epp, and the Lead Consultant on the Project, Paul Lebofsky, at the 2012 PIBC Annual Conference in Harrison Hot Springs on 31 May 2012. The PIBC awards program recognizes the best professional planning work undertaken across British Columbia and the Yukon each year. Town of Gibsons Press Release PIBC Award
